Damiano Iacobone is Associate Professor of Architectural History at the Politecnico di Milano. He graduated in Architecture in 1995 at the Politecnico and in 2003 he obtained the PhD in History of Architecture. His researches are related to the architecture of fortifications, essentially in the medieval and modern period, to the development of medieval cities related to political settlements; to Leonardo da Vinci’s projects referred to hydraulics and fortified sites and - from some years - to the contemporary
architecture, analysing documents, cartography (also in the sense of contest) and buildings to give a complex answer to the historical questions. He also took part in several congress, of national and international interest; he has published many essays in scientific journals and some books, mainly referred to urban history and to Milano during the medieval period (Città e cittadelle in età medieval e moderna.
